A short video I made last year for the Class: Technologies for Creative Learning
This was created in Adobe After Effects, using its 3D camera to move back and forth between text objects located at different depths in AE’s 3D space. If you enable depth of field, you can play with the camera’s focus distance to bring objects in and out of focus.
You can even add lights, which will cast shadows (if there is an object in the background, like a 2D ‘paper’ layer, to receive them).
